The AI Marketing Pivot
Description
AI companies are pivoting from viral fear marketing to traditional outbound sales strategies for growth
Key Takeaways
- 1AI companies have successfully used viral, doomsday-focused marketing to achieve global brand awareness comparable to tech giants like Google and Facebook.
- 2Increased government scrutiny and risk-aversion are making the fear-based marketing era less effective for AI firms.
- 3AI companies will shift their resources toward traditional outbound channels like direct sales, email outreach, and phone calls over the next 18 to 24 months.
- 4The next growth phase for AI involves leveraging established brand recognition to secure enterprise deals and close sales with informed, warm leads.

when you also look at the revenue cars of these companies and and almost tied the milestones back to these major events, you see that the strategy had it is hard to argue that up until now the strategy hasn't worked. it has worked, especially when they haven't been putting loads behind ads or and only more recently been putting a lot behind sales. yeah so it has worked. I think the question is you say now is is it gonna continue to work when governments are starting to say yo exactly what what what we actually doing here? especially governments that are not as they are more risk-averse, they are not like the US obviously. hmm yeah in that way and obviously you want to, if AI is gonna keep growing at the rate it's growing, you need to get into, you need to get everywhere. you need to get all of those more the late adopters. yeah and I'll make a prediction now. I think that that era of you know the doom headlines is effectively now over. I think mission accomplished in terms of becoming companies and brands that most people on earth know in the same way they know of Facebook or they know Google. I think mission almost accomplished in in getting that mind sharing awareness. so my prediction is that that will slowly kind of tear off and they will then use the existing awareness and traditional outbound channels that they have so getting on the phones emails calls they will up the effort and spend into those channels because now you're selling to people who know who you actually are already which is a you know astronomically different proposition versus trying to sell a cold brand. yeah that's that's my opinion and I I'm sure we can see that play out if you look forward over the next 18 months or two years man. yeah, I agree. I agree. I think.
